Greenfleet

Autopia partner with Greenfleet to plant 17 native trees for each new vehicle as it comes onto the AutoPackage program. As they grow, these trees offset the CO2 created by driving an average car for a year.

Greenfleet

At Autopia, we love cars.  We also love the environment.  For this reason we arrange a complimentary 12 month Greenfleet offset for every new client.

Greenfleet is a not for profit organisation that focuses on reducing the impact of greenhouse emissions from Australian transport.

Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted more than 6 million trees on behalf of Australian motorists.  As a client of Autopia, Greenfleet will plant 17 native trees on your behalf.  As they grow, they will absorb (or offset) the greenhouse gas emissions that your car produces in one year (based on 4.3 tonnes of CO2 for the average car).

Your trees will be planted on degraded land within rural Australia.  This year, (2009), Autopia customers’ trees have been planted near Wedderburn in north-western Victoria.  In addition to absorbing the greenhouse emissions of your vehicle, the trees will help to create new forests and much needed habitat for native species, as well as helping in the fight against salinity and erosion.

We also encourage our clients to continue their offset through Greenfleet at the conclusion of your 12 month complimentary offset.

The Autopia-Greenfleet arrangement was the first of its kind in Australia.  We were the first vehicle management/financing company to offset the greenhouse emissions for ALL our client's vehicles.

"Climate change is one of the most pressing environmental issues facing businesses today.  Greenfleet is delighted to work with Autopia to offset greenhouse gas emissions on behalf of their customers.  This arrangement sees new forests being planted in priority areas to soak up greenhouse gas emissions, improve soil and water quality and provide vital habitat for native wildlife."

Greenfleet Chief Executive, Sara Gipton
